Screen flickering when split screen

Split screen ( dragging one window to the far left so that one there's 2 different windows open, one on each side of the monitor) had been working fine for me since a few weeks ago i started having a lot of issues with it. whenever i put my pc into split screen my screen starts flickering intensely. it can't be the monitors fault since it only happens during certain situations. i've been looking for answers online but really didnt manage to. i found out my graphics driver was outdated so i downloaded the latest graphics driver but did not notice any change. worth to note is that in the beginning the screen flickering happened after (windows key + shift) while playing a game it would then say ''application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware'' so my screen would flicker while running the game. after a lot of searching i couldnt find an answer and would be VERY thankful to anyone who could aid me with this situation.
