I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Firefox browser, but in the last 2 weeks out of the blue, my screen will go glitchy putting fragments of the existing browser screen all around on the 27" screen. Then, when I try to do anything to end that, the response times go from instant to a few seconds. Sometimes I can get to the Restart from the usual spot. Othertimes, it's a real lag so I have to hit the power button which puts it back to the login screen so I can restart from there. It has only happened once a day, but tonight it happened twice in an hour. I've got plenty of anti-virus and anti-malware stuff that I've checked and it is clean. My core temps and video card temp are all perfectly fine too. When I can get Task Manager to open, it isn't pulling 100% on anything (all 3 are well below 50% with only 1 above 40%) so I don't know why it's slowing down the response either.
It is only when I'm using the internet (wireless connection) with the Firefox browser, but once it happens, it slows the response down a lot for everything else. I've had an HP Firmware, Firefox, and Windows update all since this started, and it'll go days between having problems. I've got the included HP corded mouse that I've been using for about a year and I'm wondering if the scroll wheel is causing the issue. But I'm completely stumped as I've never run into this problem in all my decades working on PCs.

I should have checked Firefox's support forum first before posting here as it seems to have happened to other people over the last few years so it is clearly some kind of Firefox issue and not a PC issue. It definitely doesn't warrant doing all of that. It only happens when I'm using the browser as everything else, like using Edge or playing games works fine. Not sure why I'm one of the unlucky few that have had this happen with Firefox, but it happens so rarely that it isn't a huge deal. Thanks for the answer, and if it was hardware-related, that'd be a big help. It just isn't.
