Can anyone explain why is this happening...that too frequently nowadays. This happens whenever I try to access the option of displaying multiple windows on my screen. Normally it goes away after a few seconds but this time it's been already half an hour and my keyboard is also not working right now. What to do now ?? Any suggestions??

Those are artifacts produced by a defective graphics board or chip.  It could be bad graphics memory or the chip itself.  Overheated CPU can also be the problem especially if the CPU has building graphics.  Normally you can tell the difference as the system worked ok until it gets hot.  If you suspect overheating then use compressed air to blow out the dust and install a temperature program such as tthrottle.  https://efmer.com/download-tthrottle/

Press ESC when powering up and run the built in test (it there is one)
