Hi Trenpa69,
If you are on Windows 10, it might be caused by incompatible apps or display drivers.
Try these troubleshooting steps for Pavilion xi monitors to help isolate the problem.
Hope that helps!

Hi Trenpa69
Please provide your HP PC product number.
I would start by seeing if HP has a graphics driver update for your PC.
Check AMD or Nvidia for graphics driver updates if you have one of these discrete cards installed.
This problem could be caused by Microsoft updating your PC to the Creator's Update, version 1703.
Download the latest graphics driver from HP, AMD, or Nvidia after you have determined what graphics device your PC is using (Control Panel, Device manager).
Disconnect your PC from the network. This will stop Microsoft from possibly downloading and installing the same driver again.
Uninstall the current graphics driver. Check Device Manager to verify you are using a generic Windows graphics adapter after rebooting your PC. You may have to repeat the driver removal process a couple of times to get to a generic graphics driver.
Install the new graphics driver you downloaded from HP, AMD, or Nvidia.
Reboot your PC. Connect your PC to the network. This should fix this problem if it is caused by the graphics driver.
Let the forum know if this helps.
