macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi All,

I have purchased a HP M34d WQHD Curved Monitor as a desktop display for my MacBook. I have everything up and running but the display on the HP monitor is stretched when I use the the "fill to screen" setting on the monitor. I have tried various settings both on my MacBook and the monitor but I cannot get the display on the monitor to stop stretching. Its driving me mad!

My previous monitor was an LG wide screen and I did not have this issue at all so it must be to do with the HP monitor itself.

Any help on how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance!

I do not have Mac but two of my kids do and one has MacBook (Monterey) and the other iMac (Capitan).

In order for the desktop to fit the entire screen your system needs to support WQHD (3440 x 1440)

If it does not then the desktop needs to be  stretched.

I assume your problem is the desktop and not an application like Safari (for example)i where the application "full screen" does not fit the screen and cannot be made any bigger.  That is a different problem entirely and not with resolution.
