Product: HP V24v G5 FHD Monitor

Does HP recycle their old serial numbers? I inventory all of the equipment my department uses, and we have some MUCH older monitors. Most of the time, I get a reply from the HP website saying the SN is invalid, but sometimes a new monitor comes up that is still in, or very recently out of, warranty. The Product Name above is one example of a newer monitor coming up with a very old SN.
