I found I can only get support when entering a serial number. But when I copy and paste it from HP Diagnostics, it says invalid serial number and it won't give me any other information to contact HP. The serial number looks completely fine and similar to the example. I bought it directly from HP US. Any idea?

HP Support accepts online submissions devices still in Warranty.
If your device is no longer in Warranty -- or if the device is an accessory (not a computer or printer) - then HP Support will not accept the number. At this writing, this limitation is true even if the serial number is correct.
If your device is still in Warranty and you cannot submit a case, let us know and we will forward a request for review.

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.
Some (Most) regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online.
Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty. Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.
HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.
If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.
Important
Never post private information in the HP Community!
Thieves are waiting - do not just hand out your privacy to their keeping.
HP Support does not free-post phone numbers for HP Support on the Internet.
Your computer is not full of bugs and you do not need to pay a fee for driver support.
Pay attention to where you are going.

Out of Warranty? What to do...
For those of us who are "Out of Warranty", or asking for help with an item not covered by the Warranty, submitting a case to HP Support is not an option.
Open your device HP Product Home > Select Category Troubleshooting to find help for common issues.
HP Support does not generally provide free service for out-of-warranty devices.
Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.

Increase your chances of receiving an answer ---
Provide as much information as possible about the product.
For example,
- Provide the exact model of the device and the Operating System / version

HP Envy 34 ordered from directly from HP on 11/24/2023. If I check warranty status using "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics" it says 'Unknown'. When I click check status it fails to refresh. Warranty by state I believe is required to be at least 1 year so I assume it is under warranty.

No, there is no public phone number.
