Hi,
I've just purchased a HP 15s-fq1003na 15.6" Laptop. It has 2 standard USB 3.1 ports, 1 USB-C 3.1 port and an HDMI port. I want to hook it up to 2 external monitors and use them with an extended display format while the laptop lid is closed (i'll use a peripheral keyboard too).
The monitors I have each have an HDMI input and a VGA input. I've managed to use an HDMI to HDMI cable to hook up to one monitor but don't know how to get the second monitor hooked up. I've heard about using a USB-C to HDMI cable but that my USB C port would need to be ALT HDMI compatible. I don't know if it is. Can someone help pls?
Thanks

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06543040
It has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does not support UDB-C to HDMI. Please use USB-A option.
If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks

Thanks for that - I've done what you've suggested.....
Most of the docks on that site though use a USB-C input....I couldn't see any that used USB-A as an input....maybe i'm missing something.
Also - i note that my laptop has the spec below....does this mean that none of the USB ports (neither USB-A or USB-C) can support monitors as they all say "Data Transfer Only"
1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only); 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 1.4b; 1 headphone/microphone combo
