Hi @Deba902,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop screen is experiencing a slight but continuous flicker. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the system and disconnect peripherals

Restart the laptop and unplug all external devices (USBs, external monitor, charger).

This rules out temporary glitches or interference from connected devices.

Check if the flicker appears in BIOS

Restart the laptop and tap Esc, then F10 to enter BIOS.

If the screen flickers in BIOS, the issue is likely hardware-related.

If it does not flicker in BIOS, the cause is likely software or driver-related.

Update or reinstall the display driver

Open Device Manager → Display adapters.

Right-click the graphics driver and choose Update driver.

If already updated, choose Uninstall device, restart the system, and let Windows reinstall it.

Check refresh rate settings

Go to Settings → System → Display → Advanced display.

Make sure the refresh rate is set to the recommended value.

Incorrect refresh rates can cause subtle flickering.

Adjust brightness and power settings

Disable adaptive brightness if enabled.

Set the power mode to Balanced or Best performance and test again.

Some panels flicker slightly when brightness changes rapidly.

Run HP hardware diagnostics

Restart the laptop, press Esc, then F2.

Run the Display / Video tests to check for panel or cable issues.

Check with an external monitor

Connect an external display using HDMI or USB-C.

If the external screen is stable while the laptop screen flickers, the issue is likely the internal display panel or cable.

I hope this helps.
