All was fine, then the video resolution went to basic VGA. I checked Device Manager and it lost my HP monitor driver (now Generic Monitor), plus, the Display adapter is reporting "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". AMD or HP doesn't have Windows 10 drivers for this video adapter, so I tried downloading the Windows 8.1 Catalyst drivers and installing using "Run as Administrator" and "Compatibilty Mode". Nothing seems to work. Always defaults back to Basic Display Adapter. ALso, went into BIOS and tried changing Video setting from PCI-E to Onboard. No change.
ALso, I ran the CPU-Z program and it reports Microsoft Basic Display Adapter as well.
And yes, I did the Windows 10 Windows update, to no avail.
Any ideas as to how to force a different display adapter or is the video car kaput?
