I used to have my internet browser and any open items show in the take bar. Recently I have noticed that those are gone, even though I have a browser up and files. I have to go to the windows screen and search for my browser to pull it back up. Anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?

Hi @Piercer14

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

To better assist you - May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

While you respond to that, try these steps -

Right click on Taskbar > Properties > Taskbar tab > UNCHECK 'group similar Taskbar buttons' > Apply> OK.

If the issue still persists, try these additional steps -

Step 1 Uncheck "Auto-hide the taskbar" -

Right click on taskbar, select properties and find "Auto-hide the taskbar" (under Taskbar tab).

Step 2 Disable desktop composition -

1. Right click Computer > Properties

2. Advanced System Settings

3. Under Performance click Settings

4. Tick (Enable) or Untick (Disable) Enable Desktop Composition

5. Apply

Step 3 Update the Drivers -

1. Click Start, All Programs and then Windows Update.

2. Click Check for Updates on the left of the screen.

3. If any updates are available, go ahead and install them.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
