Hi @praharshini,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Laptop PC 15s display starts blinking as soon as the microphone turns on, it could be due to several reasons, and troubleshooting may require a few steps to isolate and resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Ensure that your operating system and all drivers, especially the graphics and audio drivers, are up to date. You can usually find these updates on the HP website or through Windows Update.
Disable Microphone:
- Temporarily disable your microphone to see if the blinking stops. If it does, it might be a software issue related to the microphone or audio drivers.
Check for Malware or Background Applications:
- Run a malware scan using your antivirus software to rule out any malicious programs causing the issue.
- Check your Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) for any background applications or processes that might be using a significant amount of system resources. Close any unnecessary applications.
Test with an External Microphone:
- If you have an external microphone, connect it to your laptop and check if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the built-in microphone.
Update or Roll Back Drivers:
- If the issue started after a driver update, consider rolling back the microphone or audio driver to a previous version to see if that resolves the problem.
Adjust Microphone Settings:
- Go to your sound settings (Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings" or search for it in the Control Panel).
- Check the microphone settings and ensure they are properly configured. Try adjusting the microphone sensitivity or turning off any enhancements.
Hardware Inspection:
- Inspect the physical connections of your laptop. Loose or damaged cables could potentially interfere with both the microphone and display.
- Check if there are any loose connections or damaged components within the laptop itself. If you're comfortable, you may want to open the laptop carefully to inspect for any visible issues.
Check for Power Issues:
- Ensure your laptop is connected to a stable power source. Power fluctuations can sometimes cause display issues.
External Monitor Test:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the external monitor displays without any blinking while your laptop screen is still flickering, it might indicate a hardware issue with the laptop screen.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
