Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

About 3 days ago the touch screen completely stopped working. It has been working fine since I brought it home from the Microsoft store a few years ago. I did not do anything to create this malfunction and I did not install anything. It just

I have tried the following with no success:

1. System restore and went back as far as I could.

2. Windows update and even installed all of the optional files.

3. Gone into device manager in which it doesn't even list I have a touch screen at all anymore under the HID and I even did the scan for hardware changes to no avail.

Also, stated in PC Info, by the pen & touch it says, 'No Pen or Touch Input is available for this Display'. And I know that is completely wrong because I have been using the touch screen beautifully for years on this All-In-One PC. The only thing left I can think of is to complely wipe my system and start all over in which I really don't want to do that to fix one problem when everything else is working just fine. Lastly, I would have posted this question to support but it no longer lets me do that. Thanks in advanced to anyone who has a solution to this.

To answer your questions...

* The product number of my computer is: F3D62AA#ABA

* I have not made any Hardware or software changes.

* I used the HP Support Assistant to try and troubleshoot

I realized now I forgot to mention two other things:

1. I should of mentioned that I did try that Troubleshooting page, the one where you provided the link http://hp.care/2ogsV3Z from HP several times, I inputed my exact computer model, etc and couldn't find anything that would relate to the touch screen in regards to drivers as I was hoping that maybe if I found one the computer would discover it. Although I did find topics in regards to the touch screen and tried it but to no avail nothing worked.

2. I tried the HP PC Diagnostics UEFI program, the one where you reboot and hit the F2 key. I couldn't find anything that would specifically target the touch screen in the menu of that program.

This is so rare for me to not be able to figure out a problem on my PC. I am not giving up but I believe there has got to be a solution! 🙂

I can't believe it worked but, I just did a complete shut down like it said where you pointed me to and everything is back! I checked device manager under HID and magically it says I have a touch screen again. I also checked PC info and it says I have a touch screen again. I blame this on windows updates... lol! 🙂 Have a great day! 🙂
