Hi @Laura2u,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
It sounds like you're experiencing two separate issues after installing Windows 10 on your HP All-in-One 24-g014: the touch screen driver is missing, and your system is now running a 32-bit version of Windows instead of 64-bit. Here's how you can address both problems:
1. Touch Screen Driver Missing
If the touch screen functionality is missing, it's likely that the driver for the touch screen wasn't installed correctly during the Windows 10 installation. Here's how to troubleshoot and resolve this:
Steps to Fix the Touch Screen Driver
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Look under Human Interface Devices (HID) for the HID-compliant touch screen.
- If it's missing or shows a yellow triangle, it means the driver needs to be reinstalled.
Update Drivers Automatically:
- Right-click on the HID-compliant touch screen if it's listed, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts. If Windows can't find the driver, proceed to the next step.
Download Drivers from HP Support:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Search for your HP All-in-One 24-g014 model and look for touch screen or chipset drivers compatible with Windows 10.
- Download and install the drivers related to the touch screen, including any Intel Serial IO or chipset drivers, as these can sometimes affect the touch screen functionality.
Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Windows may automatically download missing drivers, including the touch screen driver.
Manually Reinstall HID Drivers:
- In Device Manager, click Action on the top menu and select Scan for hardware changes. This can force Windows to detect the missing touch screen and reinstall the appropriate driver.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Laura2u,
Please find the remaining steps below.
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:
- If none of the above steps work, use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to check if there's a hardware issue with the touch screen. Restart your computer and press F2 repeatedly to enter Diagnostics, then run the Touch Screen Test.
2. System Changed from 64-bit to 32-bit
If your system switched from 64-bit to 32-bit, it’s likely that you installed the 32-bit version of Windows 10 by mistake. Unfortunately, you can’t upgrade from a 32-bit to a 64-bit version directly—you'll need to do a clean installation of the 64-bit version of Windows 10. Here’s how to do that:
Steps to Reinstall Windows 10 (64-bit)
Back Up Your Data:
- Before reinstalling, make sure to back up all important files, as a clean installation will erase everything on your system.
Download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool:
- Go to the Microsoft Windows 10 download page.
- Download the Media Creation Tool and run it.
Create Installation Media:
- In the Media Creation Tool, select Create installation media for another PC.
- Choose 64-bit and follow the instructions to create a bootable USB drive.
Install Windows 10 (64-bit):
- Insert the USB drive into your All-in-One PC and restart the computer.
- Enter the BIOS/Boot menu (usually by pressing Esc, F9, or F12 during startup).
- Select the USB drive as the boot device.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10, making sure to choose the 64-bit version.
- During installation, delete the current partitions to ensure a clean installation.
Install HP Drivers:
- Once Windows 10 64-bit is installed, go to the HP Support website and download all necessary drivers for your model, including touch screen, chipset, and other hardware drivers.
By following these steps, you should be able to restore your touchscreen functionality and get your system back to the 64-bit version of Windows 10.
Keep me posted for further assistance
