Hi @playboidorian,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To use HDMI on your HP desktop or all-in-one computer, you'll need to change the display settings. Here's a step-by-step guide.
Check the physical connection:
- Make sure that your HDMI cable is securely connected to both your computer and the display device (monitor, TV, etc.).
- Ensure that the display device is set to the correct HDMI input.
Access Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" from the context menu.
- Alternatively, you can access display settings through the Control Panel or Settings app.
Select the HDMI display:
- In the Display settings, you should see a diagram representing your displays. Identify the one labeled "2" (or another number) which represents your HDMI-connected display.
- Click on the numbered display corresponding to your HDMI connection.
Configure display settings:
- Once you've selected the HDMI display, you can configure its settings. You can choose to extend or duplicate your desktop, change the resolution, orientation, etc.
Apply changes:
- Click the "Apply" button to confirm the changes. Your screen may go black for a moment as the settings are applied.
Check for additional settings on the display device:
- Some displays, especially TVs, may have additional settings related to HDMI inputs. Check the input/source settings on your TV or monitor to ensure it's set to the HDMI port connected to your computer.
Restart your computer:
- In some cases, a simple restart may be necessary for the changes to take effect.
If you are still having trouble, it's possible that there may be an issue with the HDMI port, cable, or drivers. Try using a different HDMI cable or connecting to a different HDMI port on your computer. Additionally, make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
