Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you use an HDMI to VGA adapter and connect the monitor to the computer.
Please refer to the below article on how to connect multiple monitors to your computer.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi The_Fossette,
I have already tried that, when I plugged the VGAtoHDMI lead into the back of the PC and the monitor, the monitor would not recognise any input. I tried this on two differenet HDMI monitors and got the same result!
At present I am using two monitors, one of them is an old VGA monitor but is sitarting to fail, and has been replaced with an HDMI (Dell S2419H) one. So at present, this new monitor is now sat on the floor redundant while my old VGA monitor is failing in front of me! Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Many thanks
Bob

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
I recommend you try using a different HDMI to VGA adapter and check. As you have mentioned that the there is no issue with the ports and other monitors are working fine.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Ok, so a VGI to HDMI adapter arrived via Amazon (great!), the adapter did not work to begin with after I plugged the adapter into the back of the PC and then plugged the HDMI into the adapter. However, when I plugged in the USB power lead from the PC to the adapter, everything worked fine! Did not reckon on the adapter requiring power!
End result, I now have two HDMI screens running together using HDMI and a VGA ports on the back of my PC. 🙂
