Pavilion Desktop - 510
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Blackmagic Design Intesity Shuttle with a USB 3.0 connection. When connecting it to an HP Laptop, I have a steady connection and it works as expected. When I connect it to my much more powerful Pavilion Desktop, the connection drops frequently, and then it will fail to recognize the device altogether. The only difference I can see with the USB is that the laptop is running an AMD chip and has their USB 3.0 driver and the desktop is running Intel and has their driver. The Intel driver is no longer supported by Intel, and Microsoft has been creating the updates. I'm really not sure where to turn to improve the stability of my USB 3.0 connection.

@Alderac Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the USB 3.0 dropping connection.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

Use the following steps to uninstall USB Root Hubs:

  1. Disconnect all USB devices connected to the computer except a USB mouse and keyboard (if in use). This includes hubs, thumb drives, printers, and cameras.

  2. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

    The Device Manager window opens.

  3. Double-click Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list.
