I received a MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2019 with macOS Monterey Version 12.0.1) and a HP 24mh. I would like to connect them so I have two displays. While I am not the most tech-savy, it seems I could easily do this. Yet, I run into messages on the monitor noting: "Input Signal Not Found Check the video cable and video source", as well as Monitor Status: "DisplayPort: In active, HDMI Inactive, VGA Inactive"

I am using the included HDMI cable that came with the monitor and I have an Apple USB-C adaptor (that on one end and HDMI cable on the other), Everything fits together well but it doesn't produce the results.

On the monitor itself, I can toggle to the menu and find "Input" where I ensure it is selected to "HDMI" since the cord is plugged in to HDMI.

@ana-alicia --  Monitor Status: "DisplayPort: Inactive, HDMI Inactive, VGA Inactive". I am using the included HDMI cable that came with the monitor.

Can you try a different HDMI cable?

What video-outputs does you MacBook Air have?

If you connect your HDMI-using monitor using a HDMI cable to a different computer with HDMI-output, does the monitor "wake"?
