HP Z820 Workstation

Hello all. I have recently made the switch from ESXi 6.5.x to Unraid. ESXi was getting a little long in the tooth so I thought that this would be as good a time as any to familiariz myself with Unraid. I am running it on my HP Z820.

I am having issues with passing through my Nvidia Quadro K5000 GPU. I have tried so many different combinations to no avail. This would include binding an unbinding the card to VFIO at bootup.

From what I have read and discussed with other people that are using Unraid, binding the GPU to a specific VM should be pretty straightforward. In my case the VM is Windows 10 Pro (I tried Windows 11 and Server 2016 as well).

As a matter of fact I have been successful at binding USB controller for example.

Unraid sees the Nvidia card and it is also available as a dropdown selection when selecting the VM's graphic card. When the Nvidia GPU and associated sound card are selected the VM can be started but becomes inaccessible. I cannot remote into the WIndows machine nor can I ping it. I was wondering if the problems that I am experiencing might have something to do with the Z820's BIOS settings for instance. Shot in the dark I know.

Your time and assistance will be greatly appreciated. Peter
