I have a HP Pavilion 21 Touchsmart All-In-One PC (Windows 11) that has an unresponsive touchscreen. I unabled and enabled it in device manager... Uninstalled and reinstalled it... Rebooted...Went through setup, didn't see a "touch device" there. Tried to calibrate but nothing happened. Went into the bios to do a component test....the screen only detects a few touches in the upper-left area of the screen. What else can I do? 🤔

@Molecular, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding an Unresponsive Touchscreen on HP Pavilion 21 TouchSmart All-In-One PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Here are detailed steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue with your unresponsive touchscreen:

Confirm Touchscreen Functionality:

  • Verify that your computer is actually equipped with a touchscreen by checking the product specifications on the HP Customer Support website at HP Support.

Enable Touchscreen in Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand the Human Interface Devices list.
  • Right-click the touch screen device and select Enable (if it’s not already enabled).

Reinstall Touchscreen Driver:

  • Right-click the touch screen device and select Uninstall.
  • Restart your computer to reinstall the touchscreen driver.

Calibrate the Touchscreen:

  • Open Windows search and type "Calibrate the screen for pen and touch input".
  • Select Setup and follow the on-screen directions.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to the Windows search bar and type "Check for updates".
  • Install any available updates and restart your computer.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:

  • Turn off your computer.
  • Press the Power button while immediately pressing the Esc key repeatedly.
  • Press F2 to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests, then Touch Screen.
  • Perform the Touch Pointer Test and Drag and Drop Test. Note any failure IDs and contact HP support if any tests fail.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
