Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a Pavilion 500-102a. I have dual monitors and it has a NVIDIA GeForce GT635 video card. Not being particularly computer savvy, can this be replaced/upgraded or an additional one installed? I realise the 500-102a is 5 years old which makes it seriously out of date, but I can't quite handle replacing it yet, but would like a 3rd monitor!! Any help would be appreciated.

Hi TBar2011
You are very welcome.
Your computer has a single PCIe x16 which is used for the graphics card. You will replace the existing graphics card. You have room for one graphics card.
The Asus graphics card you mentioned should work too.

Hi @TBar2011
Upgrading that computer is a cost effective option.
Here are the Product Specifications https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c03927191 for your computer. You can replace the existing graphics card in the PCIe x16 slot with another card that will run three monitors.
Your power supply will limit your choices though. You have a 300 watt power supply, so maybe you want to consider a 1050 ti like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MA62JSZ/
In the "Questions" section for that card, one of the sellers said this card will support three monitors. There are many various 1050 ti cards on Amazon and other sites.
You are not limited to a 1050 ti, but you want to look at the wattage of any video card you are considering and make sure it can run with a computer power supply of 300 watts.
I hope this helps you in making your decision.

Hi mtmtmt
Thanks very much for your advice and is exactly what I needed. I will going for the one you mentioned or possibly this one [ASUS GTX1050TI 4GB CERBERUS-GTX1050TI-O4G PCIe Video Card]. They both seem to have the same spes from what I can see and both do the 3 monitor [maximum] on a recommended 300 watt system. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I will get it installed by a computer company as I am not confident enough to do the changeover myself but I had been reading various blogs about adding a graphics card as an addition to the original one. Is that possible in the 500-102a and does it give any real benefit?
