Hp pavillion 550-154l

I was walking home with my pc and I drop it and when I turning it on to get my work done I found out Its was switching to use integrated gpu instead of dedicated gpu. I tried many way such as updating software, check bios or uefi setting but yeah none of them were work

Dropping your HP Pavilion 550-154l might have caused some hardware damage, which could be why it's switching to the integrated GPU instead of using the dedicated GPU. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the issue:

 

Check Physical Connections:

  • Open your PC case and ensure that the dedicated GPU is properly seated in its PCIe slot.
  • Make sure all power connections to the GPU are secure.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Check the GPU and the motherboard for any visible signs of damage, such as cracks, bent pins, or burnt components.

Re-seat the GPU:

  • Remove the GPU from the PCIe slot and then reinsert it carefully to ensure a proper connection.

Clear CMOS:

  • Reset the BIOS by clearing the CMOS. This can be done by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinserting it or using the reset jumper on the motherboard.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings and make sure the primary display output is set to the dedicated GPU.

Device Manager Check:

  • Open Device Manager in Windows and check if the dedicated GPU is listed under "Display adapters".
  • If it’s listed with an error, note the error code and message.

Driver Reinstallation:

  • Uninstall the existing GPU drivers using a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in safe mode.
  • Reboot the system and reinstall the latest drivers from the GPU manufacturer’s website.

Power Supply Check:

  • Ensure that your power supply unit (PSU) is functioning correctly and providing sufficient power to the GPU.

Test the GPU in Another System:

  • If possible, test the GPU in another compatible system to see if it works. This will help determine if the GPU itself is damaged.

Check for POST Beeps or LED Indicators:

  • Listen for any beep codes during boot or check for LED indicators on the motherboard that can provide clues about hardware issues.

If after trying these steps the problem persists, the dedicated GPU or other components might have been damaged from the drop, and you may need to replace the GPU.
