Is it possible to use my desktop to view my security cameras? I plugged in my HDMI cable from the security NVR to my desktop and cannot find it anywhere.

@zoocs -- it is a rare All-In-One that has two HDMI ports -- one for output to a secondary device (TV or projector) PLUS one for input from some device that produces HDMI-output.
So, plugging the video-out from the camera to a video-out port on your computer will not work.
You'll need a separate HDMI-capable TV to accept the output from the camera.
See: HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Weaver | HP® Customer Support
for the specifications for the motherboard for a very-similar model.
There is only one HDMI port -- highly-likely to be a "video-output" port, not, as you want, a "video-in" port.
