OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-1350st CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've got Dell 27" and ViewSonic 24" monitors hooked into the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 on my HP Omen I purchase in a bundle in August 2021. The system has liquid and fan cooling. The Dell 27" is connected via HDMI. The VS 24" is connected via a VGA-to-Display Port adapter. The system  is set to update Windows automatically, currently running Windows 10 HOme, version 21H1, build 19043.1766.

Last week, the Dell 27" went to black screen. Couldn't figure out what or why -- Dell replaced it with a refurb (one month under warranty expiration). I had noticed prior to that that the VS 24" would occasionally turn off or go black, but always came back with a restart. When the Dell went, the HP went into a continuous restart cycle that I had to cancel with the 3-forced-shutdowns-in-a-row procedure. When it came back up, the Dell was dead, and I used the VS without issue.

Now, I go back hooked back up, and yesterday noticed that the Dell was, when I had no activity for a while and it went to sleep, showing green horizontal multipixel lines (approx. 1 cm wide) in a random, scattered pattern all over the screen. It went away with shutdown. Happened twice.

The only commonalities between the two monitors are (1) the video card, and (2) the operating system.

I'm wondering if this is a NVDIA card problem. Thoughts?

Hello @macanes

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 should be replaced ( technical problem ).

The new/used card should have all graphic drivers for your windows operating system.

If you can't change the graphic card, have it replaced by a computer repair shop.

best regards

Hello @macanes

Please tell me the full product name and product number (p/n) of your notebook.

You will find this information on the back of your computer printed in small letters.

Or do this:

(1) In Windows go to Search or hit [winkey] + r, type cmd and press Enter
(2) In the Command Prompt, enter the following command and press Enter:

wmic baseboard get product,Manufacturer,version

(3) Send me the result of the command ( Screenshot )

An addendum. This is what the green, pixelated screen looks like. Note that the secondary screen (left) is blacked out. After restart, both were back to normal.

Hello @macanes

Scenario 1)

What happens if you connect different computer/notebook with a new display cable to monitor A or B ? Do you still have an error image ?

Scenario 2)

What happens if you connect the OMEN 30L GT13-1350st CTO with a different monitor (not A/B) ? Do you still have an error image ?

Please report your results.

1) Connected both monitors to my 2013 Macbook Air laptop with different cables. No problems noted.

Connected both monitors to my 2013 Macbook Air laptop with same cables. No problems noted.
