HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0400nd

Hi all,

I'm still really happy with my HP AIO and  I just opened it and updated my HDD's to SSD and added some RAM to it.

I did a clean install of Windows 11 and it works flawlessly, but there is one problem:

I don't see any camera installled and I cannot find it in device management. So I know I need to add the drivers, but I checked the HP website and I just can't find any webcam drivers:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-pavilion-all-in-one-pc-27-xa0000i/model/29625745

Can anyone help perhaps and direct me to the right link to download the drivers? I cannot have any meetings via my desktop anymore for now 😞

Cheers, much appreciated!

Jan

Hi @Yeesssss112,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Pavilion All-In-One and that your SSD and RAM upgrades went well. For the webcam issue, let's troubleshoot step by step:

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
  • Look for any device listed under "Imaging devices," "Cameras," or "Unknown devices."
  • If you see your webcam listed, right-click on it and select "Update driver."

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, Esc, or Del during startup).
  • Look for any settings related to the webcam and ensure it is enabled.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Install the HP Support Assistant from here.
  • Run the application, and it will automatically detect missing drivers and install them.

Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Sometimes Windows Update can find and install the necessary drivers.

Manual Driver Search:

  • On the HP support page you linked, under the "Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices" section, download and install any drivers listed there, as sometimes webcam drivers are included in these packages.

Refer to this document: HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0400nd User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Gaya,

Thank you for your reply.

This is unfortunately of no aid, but I appreciate the help.
There is no webcam anymore in the device manager menu. Moreover, also my mic does not work anymore, but I suppose it is related to the webcam.

I could not retrieve any info about a webcam in the BIOS settings too, it's like it has completely vanished.

And pls don't get me started about the HP Support assistant program. I also used that one, as I thought it could help, so it prompted a BIOS update and I downloaded it:

Appeared that it was the wrong BIOS for my AIO and it completely crashed, terrible! Seemed that the BIOS was corrupted afterwards....

I just don't understand how a webcam (and mic) can disappear from the device manager?

Best,
J
