HP 24yh 23.8-inch Display
macOS 12.0 Monterey

Having display issues with mac mini and HP 24yh display. Apple support wants me to check on the latest firmware for the 24yh. I know the firmware on my display is CBM221 but I can not find anything on this support system that tells me what the latest firmware is. I don't think it is the issue but I would like to find the latest firmware number.

Thanks,

@jkbitz8 -- Apple support wants me to check on the latest firmware for the 24yh.

I think that you received bad advice from Apple.

In my experience, it is extremely rare for there to be updated firmware for most monitors.

However, for "Smart TVs", I have noticed that the first time that they can connect to the Internet, they do download a software update -- not always a "firmware" update -- in order to add more "smartness" (more choices of menu items for newer apps, such as Disney-Plus).

Is this your monitor: HP 24yh 23.8-inch Display - Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

It seems to be an "ordinary" monitor, not a "Smart-TV" type of device.

Please describe those issues, so that the contributors on this forum can try to help.

Can you connect the monitor to some other computer?

Your monitor has VGA and HDMI inputs -- which should allow it to connect to almost any computer.

Do you have the issue when connected to a different computer?

Do you have the issue when your Mac Mini is connected to a different monitor?
