I noticed some had problems with the "reverse driver" option.  If you look at the email from PoppaHawk, his reply is on page one of my page options, he tells how he found the driver and removed it.

Where would I find his email?

Net2, it's not an email, it's a post by Poppahank on the very first page.

Here you go:

Re: What the....?

Well, "roll back driver" was greyed out, so I couldn't do that.  But it got me thinking, and I did a search on my PC for drivers and found one dated 2015.  I installed that one, saw a couple of scary black screens, and then my 1920 x 1080 settings were back!   All's right with the world now.  Thanks to everybody who contributed.

If I click on the Update Driver or find a driver I just get "the best driver for your device is already installed" or something close thereto.  Roll back is grey so cannot use it either.

Well, the original problem reported by most people was that an update had deleted or disabled the installed driver.   If your PC is showing that you have an installed driver (which apparently doesn't work right), you may have to find a way to uninstall or disable it before going back to the 2015 version.  My system indicated that I simply didn't have a driver, so I didn't have to do that.  I'm not sure where you go from here.  There are some knowledgeable people on this forum, so perhaps one of them can help you.  Good luck.

Well, I have nothing to roll back to and no older drivers to update either. I have done a complete reset on my machine, after unable to locate anything to fix, and now I just have to accept that this is what it is, and the headache that comes with it, until HP gets another update to correct the issue. Bummer...

Thank you.  When I first came to try to fix this it was recommended to update the driver and that is what I did and therefore I believe it installed this driver as the dirver listed was installed on the date I updated.  So thanks, I will hang in here to see if anyone else has any ideas.  Not having another monitor how does one uninstall the one they have to see if that fixes it?

Net2 and Angb6, try googling the name of your adapter and see if you can download an older driver version. Poppahank used a 2015 driver and it worked for him.

I did try that and there were none available at that time. Thanks for the info though
