@LSu3481, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
For your HP 24mh 23.8-inch Display, using the HDMI connection is a great choice as it provides high-quality video and audio signals. However, if you want to explore other options:
- DisplayPort: This is another excellent choice, often preferred for higher resolutions and refresh rates. It can also carry audio signals.
- VGA: This is an older standard and typically offers lower quality compared to HDMI and DisplayPort.
To switch to DisplayPort, simply connect a DisplayPort cable from your computer to the monitor. The monitor should automatically detect the new input. If it doesn't, you can manually select the input source using the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu.
To make the inactive ports go away from the display options:
- Access the OSD Menu: Press the menu button on your monitor.
- Navigate to Input Source: Use the navigation buttons to find the input source settings.
- Select the Active Input: Choose the input you want to use (e.g., HDMI or DisplayPort).
