I installed windows 8.1 on a pc and i can't change the brightness i searched it and turned out i need a driver but i searched everywhere for one but i can't find it its called "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter can someone help me?

That driver is (one of) the interface between windows and the hardware device that does the actual display. It shows up when windows cannot find the actual driver that is needed. It is unlikely to be able to control the brightness just by itself.
Please provide the Product ID or Model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.
Possibly a software update from HP or Intel can fix the problem. Without knowing your model or product it possibly these apps might help
