pavilion h9-1135
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Going to beat dead horse here. Trying to replace broken Amd Radeon HD 7770 in my Pavilion h9-1135 HPE Phoenix. I initially was shopping graphics cards by comparing card data. A comparable card was Nvidia GTX 1050 (by the stat numbers). The card would not boot past start up screen (shocking I know). Motherboard is M3970AM with BIOS 716 version which is latest. So what card should I use to replace this card with? Improvement would be nice. Would rather not spend 1/2 the cost of the computer to do so though. I have 600w power supply.

Sorry if this sounds snarky. Been dealing with this for over 2 weeks now 😕

Hi,

You have an older BIOS in your PC so it will require a legacy graphics card.

The following graphics cards should work:

NVIDIA GTX 660

NVIDIA GTX 660 TI

AMD 7xxx series ---- check the power requirements before you buy. Some of the upper end 7xxx graphics cards are power eaters and might require power connectors that are not on your power supply.

Look on Ebay as you might find a really good deal.
