The computer powers up , the fan is running but nothing shows up on the screen. its black.
i am a pc tech and i need help.

@dan_tampa, I understand the fan is running, but the screen is blank.
Please perform power drain. Follow the steps below:
Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual static charge from the main board. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
Please check, if there is a HP logo is showing up while power on, if yes, go to BIOS and perform restore factory settings as defaults in BIOS. Check if external monitor works.
