Product: HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 (2D115AV)

Hello, I have an HP 15 laptop. iam trying to use 2 monitors with the laptop closed. I have a docking station that is a usb c with an female c to male hdmi adapter, and when plugged in my screens are duplicated. When i try to change setting to extend, it is as if it is not registering 2 monitors to extend. Both minitors are plugged into the dock station, and the station, with the adapter, is plugged into my laptops hdmi port. Any help is appreciated. If this does not work, any suggestions on a dock station to use multiple monitors with the laptops hdmi port is requested. Also, my laptops device number is 15-dy2172wm
