Hi @len1963,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering some difficulty getting your second monitor connected to your HP Envy 23.8 Inch All-In-One PC. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check HDMI Cable Connection: Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both your HP Envy All-In-One PC and the second monitor.
- Monitor Input Source: Make sure the second monitor is set to the correct input source. Most monitors have a button to toggle between different input sources (e.g., HDMI, VGA, DVI).
- Windows Display Settings: Once connected, you may need to adjust the display settings in Windows to extend or duplicate your desktop to the second monitor. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings," and then click on "Detect" to search for connected displays.
- Graphics Driver: Ensure that the graphics driver on your HP Envy All-In-One PC is up to date. You can typically update the graphics driver through the Device Manager or by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest driver.
- Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
- Test the HDMI Port: If possible, try connecting a different device (e.g., gaming console, DVD player) to the HDMI port on your HP Envy All-In-One PC to check if the port is working properly.
- Try a Different HDMI Cable: It's possible that the HDMI cable you're using is faulty. Try using a different HDMI cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check Second Monitor Compatibility: Ensure that the second monitor is compatible with your HP Envy All-In-One PC. Some monitors may require specific drivers or may not be compatible with certain PCs.
- Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with either your HP Envy All-In-One PC or the second monitor.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with connecting your second monitor to your HP Envy All-In-One PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
