Desktop is a few months old. Camera is a popup unit which used to work.
Noticed that it recently stopped working when the mic is on.
After further troubleshooting, the PC seem to detect (verified via Device Manager) that it is active and working properly if the camera is in the down position. If I put it in the up position, it complains that the device is not connected.
I already tried uninstalling/installing the driver as well as enabling/disabling the device but no luck.
What should i do? The unit is not 1 year old yet, is it still within warranty?

I am having the exact same problem. The camera is recognized as "on" only in the down position (of course the image is black). When the camera is lifted up the camera is turned off. Is this some kind of hardware glitch? I also want to take the computer back on the warranty before it expires next month.
