?

"Somehow HP+" does not make sense out of context.

HP+ refers to an optional contract for Service and Benefits available on select "e" Printers.

Signing up requires deliberate action on the part of the customer.

HP+ is an optional service contract that includes both benefits and responsibilities.

HP+ in a broader sense might - at least from a customer's perspective - appear to include HP Instant Ink.

HP Instant Ink is also a contract --

This time the contract is for a service:  Print-by-Page Subscription to Instant Ink service plan

Instant Ink subscription requires acceptance of the service and a credit card to secure the plan.

What now?

HP+ is not, to my knowledge, something you can disregard once accepted.

"Yeah, but " Objections? Questions?  Contact HP+ to ask questions about any options.

Next,

HP Instant Ink is an optional and -- importantly -- separate service.

HP Instant Ink can be cancelled --

Important

The Instant Ink cancellation procedure requires your attention as there are responsibilities and requirements.

What to do - Details and Contact Information

Reminder

This printer is protected by Dynamic Security.  All ink used in the printer must include the embedded HP chip.  The HP-Chip requirement is NOT related to HP+.   Reference:  HP Printers - Dynamic Security Enabled Printers

Requirements for HP+ printers --  Page 29

Excerpted

Requirements for HP+ printers

This topic describes the requirements for HP+ printers.

Keep the printer connected to the Internet

HP+ printers are cloud-connected devices that must remain connected to the Internet in order to function. The
Internet connection enables the printer to deliver HP+ specific app features and firmware updates.

During setup, you must connect the printer to the Internet using a supported network connection. After setup,
you can print using a USB cable connection, if desired, but the printer must still be connected to the Internet.

Use Original HP cartridges

Original HP cartridges are cartridges manufactured and sold by HP in official HP packaging. If non-Original HP
supplies or refilled cartridges are installed, HP+ printers will not operate as expected.

Have an HP account

Create or sign into an HP account to manage your printer.

==================================================

s there a way to get out of / cancel the contract?

No idea -

You will need to ask HP+ Support about options concerning the contract.
