my keyboard is outputting different keys from the ones i pressed, e.g when i press hash i get £, when i try put at i get ", this is really frustrating please help

Please ask Microsoft Copilot as it may answer in your language.

To change the keyboard region on a Windows computer, you can do the following:
    1. Go to Start
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Time & language
    4. Select Language & region
    5. Choose the language that has the keyboard you want
    6. Select Options
  • Select Add a keyboard
  • Choose the keyboard you want to add 
     
     
If you don't see the keyboard you want, you may need to add a new language. You can also switch between languages by pressing Alt + Shift
