HP Laptop Model 17-bs027na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop is typing multiple letters when I press a single key on the keyboard. For example, when I press the backspace bar it comes up with a hashtag and when I press the letter G it comes up with bgt5fv4r. I’ve tried pressing the num lock key and nothing has worked, also looked in keyboard settings and all of the settings for sticky keys etc are off. Not sure what to do at this point!!

@jade0738 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with keyboard typing.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please uninstall the keyboard drivers from the device manager.

Please follow the below steps to uninstall the drivers.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

  2. Select Device Manager in the menu.

  3. select the keyboard and right click and click on uninstall the drivers.

After uninstalling the keyboard drivers, please update the BIOS.

Let me know how that pans out,
