Hi @Rajveer5ingh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Laptop's screen turns black on the left and right sides while the middle remains normal, and this issue gets resolved either after a few minutes or hours or when you plug in your charger, there could be a couple of potential causes for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check power settings: Ensure that your power settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, certain power-saving settings can affect the display behavior. Adjust the power plan to prevent any display-related issues.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can cause display problems. Visit the HP support website and download the latest graphics drivers for your specific laptop model. Install the drivers and see if the issue persists.
- Adjust screen resolution: Try changing the screen resolution settings on your laptop. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings" or "Screen resolution," and experiment with different resolution options to see if the black screen issue resolves.
- Check for physical connections: Ensure that all cables and connections between your laptop and external display (if any) are secure. Loose or faulty connections can cause display problems. If you are using an external monitor, try disconnecting it and check if the issue still occurs.
- Perform a power cycle: Shut down your laptop completely, unplug the charger, and remove the battery (if possible). Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reinsert the battery (if applicable), plug in the charger, and power on the laptop to see if the problem persists.
- Run hardware diagnostics: HP laptops often have built-in hardware diagnostics tools. Restart your laptop and look for an option like "HP Diagnostics" or "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics" during the boot process. Run a comprehensive system test to check if any hardware component, such as the display, is causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
