HP Envy All In One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Mouse will click on random things without me doing anything. When I try to click on what I want the mouse will move away and it takes several trys to get it to click on what I want and sometimes once I click on something it will randomly close out. The touchscreen will also not work. Any help would be appreciated!

@allison17

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand the mouse does not respond or work as expected. However, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  1. In Windows, search for and open Mouse settings.

  2. Select Additional mouse options.

  3. On the Mouse Properties window, select a tab for the settings you want to change.

    • Buttons: Customize the left and right buttons, change the double-click speed, or highlight items without holding down the mouse button.

    • Pointers: Change the pointer schemes or select a visual style for the pointer.

    • Pointer Options: Change the pointer speed, default behavior, or visibility.

    • Wheel: Customize the vertical or horizontal scrolling of the mouse wheel.

    Locating the tabs to change mouse settings

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
