@cheeseisgood213, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding touch screen issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry to hear your HP touchscreen isn’t working. Let’s try a few things to get it up and running again!
Restart Your Laptop – It sounds simple, but a quick restart can sometimes fix touchscreen glitches.
Check Touchscreen Drivers –
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices and look for HID-compliant touch screen.
- If it’s there, right-click and select Enable (if disabled). If it’s enabled, try Uninstall and restart—Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Update Your Drivers –
- Open Device Manager, right-click the HID-compliant touch screen, and select Update driver → Search automatically.
Run Windows Troubleshooter –
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then select Hardware and Devices.
Check Touchscreen Settings –
- Type Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input in the Windows search bar, open it, and make sure touch is enabled.
If none of these work, let me know your laptop model, and we’ll figure out the next steps together! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
