Hi @a_ndilynn,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with a non-functional touchpad despite trying several troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more things you can try.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar).
  • Locate the touchpad driver under "Mice and other pointing devices" or "Human Interface Devices."
  • Right-click on the touchpad driver and select "Uninstall device." Restart your laptop and let Windows reinstall the driver automatically.

Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers:

  • Sometimes updates to BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) and chipset drivers can resolve hardware issues. Visit HP's official support website, enter your laptop's model number, and download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers if available.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Microsoft releases patches that address hardware compatibility issues.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently after a Windows update or software installation, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the problem occurred.

Hardware Check:

  • If none of the software solutions work, it's possible there's a hardware issue with the touchpad itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
