I have a HP Spectre x360 convertible 15-df1xxx.
I have just ran into this issue to where my TouchPad on my keyboard is unresponsive. I've updated it, I've restarted it multiple times tried it with and without the charger plugged in but for some reason my mouse is just unresponsive and I have to use my touchscreen to do anything. If someone can help me that would be great as I don't know how to resolve this Issue

@Davionna22, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your TouchPad suddenly stops responding. Let’s walk through some steps to help get it working again on your HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1xxx.
Check if the TouchPad is Disabled
Sometimes the TouchPad can be accidentally disabled via a key combination.
- Try pressing Fn + F5 or F5 (look for a TouchPad icon on the function keys).
- Alternatively, double-tap the top-left corner of the TouchPad — this is a common toggle on HP laptops.
Enable TouchPad via Settings
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
- Ensure the Touchpad is turned ON.
- If it’s already on, try toggling it off and back on.
Update or Reinstall TouchPad Drivers
- Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
- Expand "Mice and other pointing devices".
- Right-click on the TouchPad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, or HID-compliant touchpad) and choose:
- Update driver > Search automatically.
- If that doesn’t help, try Uninstall device, then restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix many issues.
- Download or open it from here: HP Support Assistant
- Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes > TouchPad or Input Devices and follow the prompts.
BIOS Update (if needed)
Sometimes a BIOS update can resolve hardware detection issues.
- Visit the Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support
- Enter your product name: HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-df1xxx.
- Download and install the latest BIOS and TouchPad drivers available.
Perform a Hard Reset
This can help reset hardware connections.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the charger and all peripherals.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the charger and power on the device.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
