just recently got a new monitor but the buttons on the side of it don't have any setting for the volume and when i try play music or anything out of it nothings coming through?

Otherwise, please give product number, or model link
Do you have a cable, an audio input ??
For me, there are no speakers integrated into the screen, that would explain that no button, no sound!
You need to find desktop speakers, the audio quality will only get better
