My friend is having issues with her monitor and currently cannot go onto the forums or get tech support herself. I'm coming here to get some clear answers on what could be going on, rather than going by my pure speculations. I do not own this monitor myself, so this is outside of my area of exact experience. (She also lives in another state and I can't help or look at the setup physically. I'm having her describe as much as she can to me.)
From what I know, she has a WF1907 Compaq monitor with her desktop setup (Windows 7 PC). Just today, she was using her computer and suddenly the monitor screen started flickering a bit until it became completely white. She tried rebooting it and it only did the same thing each time. After a while, it completely went off.
She found a new, spare cable to replace the other one connecting her monitor to her computer, and it only allowed the monitor to come back on completely white again.
My first assumptions were in the realm of a graphics card going bad, or loose/damaged cables. However, she has a new graphics card that was installed recently and makes the first speculation most unlikely (I'm not sure what her graphics card is though - just that it's very new). The cable speculation is uncertain now because not even another cable helped the white screen go away. This narrows me down to thinking it's a problem with the monitor itself, but I'm not sure.
So, I've come here to ask about this for my friend and she needs answers as soon as possible. She has things she needs to do on her computer, but now her own monitor screen is out of order. Is there anything she can do right away?

Here is a guide that may give you some help. I agree that it is very possibly a failed monitor. From the picture on the Product Specifications page and the fact that it is a Compaq, it looks to be older.
Just because the video card is newer doesn't mean that it couldn't have failed. I have had a new out of the box be DOA. So, don't rule this out completely.
