Hi @jwall7925,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The camera icon on your HP ENVY Laptop PC 17 desktop might be there for a few reasons.
- Camera App Shortcut: It could be a shortcut to the default camera app or another camera-related application you installed.
- Recent Software Installation: If you've recently installed software that uses the camera, such as video conferencing or photo editing apps, it might have placed a shortcut on the desktop.
- System Update: A recent system update might have added the icon to your desktop.
- Accidental Creation: You might have accidentally created a shortcut to the camera app and placed it on your desktop.
If you don't need the icon, you can remove it by right-clicking on it and selecting "Delete." This will only remove the shortcut, not the actual camera application.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
