I've got an Omen 45L GT22-1090 desktop. I'm not using the ethernet port on the motherboard. Instead, I've installed an additional 10 Gigabit network card in the PCIe slot. I've tried two different cards and have the same issue with both.
One card is the TRENDnet TEG-10GECSFP which connects to the switch with a DAC cable.
The other card is the TP-Link TX401 which connects with a CAT6 cable and I'm using a Unifi SFP+ RJ-45 module.
The switch is a Unifi USW Enterprise 8 PoE switch.
It doesn't seem to matter which card is installed, whenever the PC wakes up, the network connection is not restored. My preference is to use the TRENDnet SFP+ card since the module runs noticeably cooler than the RJ-45. All drivers are up to date. Firmware is up to date on the switch. Usually, a reboot will restore the connection. Looking for any guidance on this issue. Am I overlooking a power setting somewhere? Am i overlooking a network card setting somewhere? Is this a known issue?
I should also add that the NIC disappears from the Device Manager, but I can scan for device changes, and it will find and reconnect the network connection. So it seems like either an issue with the PCIe slot not waking up properly or Windows "forgetting" that the NIC is installed.
Appreciate any feedback offered.
Thanks,
WB
