HP Pavilion x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ek1000 (742J1AV)

I am facing a serious Bluetooth connectivity issue with my laptop and wireless earbuds. The earbuds are not maintaining a stable connection. Even after successfully connecting, they automatically disconnect and reconnect repeatedly.

The issue also occurs while watching videos. For example, when I am watching a YouTube video and click on another video or switch to another tab/page, the Bluetooth earbuds suddenly disconnect and then try to reconnect. Sometimes the connection keeps switching between connected and disconnected.

I have already tried uninstalling/deleting the Bluetooth drivers and updating/reinstalling the drivers, but the issue is still not resolved. I have also restarted the laptop and reconnected the earbuds multiple times, but the problem continues.

Please investigate whether this is a Bluetooth driver or hardware-related issue and provide a permanent solution.

Hi  @Rupesh016

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out, and I appreciate the detailed information you've shared. I understand that your Bluetooth earbuds are repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting, especially when switching between videos, tabs, or applications. I can certainly see how important it is to have a stable audio connection, and I'll be glad to help.

To better understand the issue, could you kindly help us with the following details?

  1. Does the issue occur with all Bluetooth audio devices or only with these earbuds?
  2. Does the issue occur only while streaming videos (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) or during music playback and video calls as well?
  3. Kindly let us know if Wi-Fi is enabled when the issue occurs, as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi can sometimes share the same wireless band.

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

1. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Click here for steps )

  • Turn off the notebook.
  • Turn it back on and repeatedly tap F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Wireless Module Test and check for any reported issues.

2. Disable Bluetooth Power Management

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Bluetooth.
  • Right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Properties.
  • Open the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  • Click OK and restart the laptop.

3. Change Wireless Adapter Power Settings

  • Open Control Panel -Power Options.
  • Select Change plan settings next to your active power plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Wireless Adapter Settings -Power Saving Mode.
  • Set both On battery and Plugged in to Maximum Performance.

4. Re-pair the Earbuds

  • Remove the earbuds from Bluetooth devices.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Reset the earbuds to factory settings (refer to the manufacturer's guide).
  • Pair them again and test the connection.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
