Omen 30L GT12-0075na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've been setting up and using my new Omen 30L - it's only 2 days old but one of the first things I setup was my audio system. I have a bluetooth headset and bluetooth speakers and I use one or the other depending on what I am doing at the time. Both had been tested and working great.

This morning I was using the bluetooth speakers while working on some video editing projects and my house (and indeed my local area) experienced a momentary power outage. I rebooted the system and all was well until I noticed my speakers wouldn't connect. I tried to reconnect through the Windows bluetooth settings page and it was telling me that bluetooth was not switched on - however there appeared no place to switch it on or off. Even in the "Action Bar" there was no bluetooth option (I can't say I ever checked there before it stopped working).

I checked Device Manager and Bluetooth was there, and within it could see all of my previously paired devices. I checked for updates to the driver and none were available - it said all up to date. I removed my devices and tried to repair them - the same issue of bluetooth not being switched on.

I rebooted the system and had the same issue still - only this time bluetooth was gone from Device Manager and has not reappeared since.

I've downloaded the latest Intel bluetooth drivers but this has had no effect - still no longer showing up in Device Manager. It's as though it has been physically removed from the system.

I am hoping someone may see this over this holiday period and have a nice simple fix as  the audio system is quite critical to my studio and video editing suite I had hoped to be able to progress with several projects over the Christmas break.

Thank you in advance,

Joel

I've managed to fit it myself now.

Carried out a CMOS reset (jumper method) and it looks to have sorted it - it reappeared in Device Manager and my devices can now see it and connect to it.
