Desktop HP Pavilion - 550-209nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, here is my problem with Desktop HP Pavilion - 550-209nl
Even if in the product specs the bluetooth should be integrated ("Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac featuring Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) 1 x 1 technology"), I cannot use it:

- there is no Bluetooth device in the Device management panel

- no Bluetooth icon in the notification panel

- no Bluetooth switch to activate it in the Setting / Device panel

I've already downloaded all the bluetooth drivers from the HP Drivers page / the HP assistant doesn't list any problem / intel bluetooth drivers updated / Win 10 is updated too

So I presume my desktop has no bluetooth service, despite the official specs...

What about that, is there a way to fix it? Or do I have to buy an external USB bluetooth device?

thanks, cheers,

Fabio

Welcome to HP Support Community

As per the Specifications: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04926509, this PC should be having Bluetooth.

Did Bluetooth ever work on this PC?

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Try using the Bluetooth and let me know how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you KrazyToad,

"Did Bluetooth ever work on this PC?"
Unfortunately I hadn't any need to use it so far, so I can't tell you if it never worked or if it just stopped working recently

"I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant"
Yes I already did it, but it doesn't find any drivers to be updated

And yes, Windows is updated too.

Anyway...I fixed my situation by buying a USB adapter

Kind regards,
Fabio
