Since I cannot connect any bluetooth devices I am adviced to check if BT is turned on. A video shows a turn on/off toggle switch, but that switch is not seen on my computer. I have downloaded drives for Intel Wireless and BT, but that did not change anything.

Hi @ArneFaug,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your Bluetooth toggle button is missing, and you cannot connect any Bluetooth devices, even after installing the latest Intel wireless and Bluetooth drivers. Let’s go through steps to restore it:

Check if Bluetooth service is running

Press Win+R → services.msc.

Look for Bluetooth Support Service, and ensure it’s Running and set to Automatic.

If it’s stopped, right-click → Start, then restart your PC.

Check Device Manager

Press Win+X → Device Manager → Bluetooth.

Ensure your Bluetooth adapter appears and has no warning icon.

If missing, check View → Show hidden devices.

If present but disabled, right-click → Enable device.

Uninstall and reinstall Bluetooth adapter

In Device Manager, right-click the Bluetooth adapter → Uninstall device (check Delete driver software for this device if available).

Restart your PC; Windows should reinstall a compatible driver automatically.

Enable Bluetooth in BIOS/UEFI (if available)

Restart the laptop → enter BIOS/UEFI (usually F10 on HP).

Look under Built-in Device Options or Wireless and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.

Check Airplane Mode / Quick Settings

Windows 10/11: Open Action Center / Quick Settings.

Make sure Airplane Mode is off.

Sometimes the toggle only appears when the adapter is active and not in Airplane Mode.

Run Windows Bluetooth troubleshooter

Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Bluetooth → Run.

Follow prompts; this can detect and fix missing toggle issues.

Update Windows

Make sure your system is fully updated; some Bluetooth issues are fixed in cumulative updates.

Check for HP wireless driver package

Download and install the full HP Wireless and Bluetooth driver package for your exact laptop model from the HP support site, not just the Intel driver.

HP sometimes provides a vendor-specific version that enables the toggle.

I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for this extensive answer. I started on you checklist, and what seems clear now is the HW is missing. I was sure it was included in the order, so I have reached out to the vendor, and expect an answer soon. If you have the possibility to check, here is the produkt ID: A2JD5ES#UUW and serial number (Edited)
